MOT Tester Training and Annual Assessment

MOT Tester Annual Training - 3 hours compulsory training to the DVSA curriculum

Course content

Subjects specified by the DVSA in the annual training curriculum relevant to testers of either group A (classes 1 and 2) or Group B (classes 3, 4, 5 and 7).

Who is this course for?

Nominated Testers (NTs) who wish to undertake their three hours of mandatory training and take the MOT tester annual assessment.

What are the course outcomes?

Each tester will increase their understanding of the subjects specified by the DVSA and will complete the mandatory three hours of training to remain qualified to test. Each tester will have a fully compliant, printable record of the training stored in their account.

E-Learning using the MOT Juice training platform.

Course duration

3 hours (12 x 15-minute modules).

MOT Tester CPD (Continuing Professional Development) - Highly advised supplementary tester training

Course content

Subjects selected from Matters of Testing Blog, Special Notices, the MOT Testing Guide and other subjects relevant to MOT Testers of each Group A and B.

Who is this course for?

Nominated MOT testers who wish to expand their knowledge of relevant issues on MOT Tester related subjects and continue their further development as an MOT professional.

What are the course outcomes?

Each tester will have completed three hours of relevant MOT training over and above the basic requirements of the DVSA. Each tester will have a fully compliant, printable record of the CPD stored in their account.

E-Learning using the MOT Juice training platform.

Course duration

3 hours (12 x 15-minute modules).

MOT Annual Assessment (2025-26)

Assessment content

Annual assessment relevant to either Group A or Group B testers.

Who is this assessment for?

Nominated testers who wish to take the MOT annual assessment in order to remain qualified to test.

Assessment format

Unsupervised online open-book.

Assessment duration

30 questions 60 minutes (assessment can be paused).

MOT Juice is a subscription service

1. You will be creating a unique free account with MOT Juice for your garage from which you can manage your testers' training, CPD and/or annual assessments.
2. Each tester will create their own account to manage their own training, CPD and/or annual assessments.
3. Today you will be purchasing training, CPD and/or annual assessments for the 2025-26 MOT year only.
4. Your subscription will renew annually on the next 24th March (ready for the new MOT year) unless you cancel.
5. You can cancel easily at any time with no penalty from within your account.
6. Upon cancellation, garage accounts will lose access immediately, but mot staff accounts will remain live for 3 months after cancellation for training completion and record downloads.
